Located on the Aegean coast line this recommended holiday resort offers a nice alternative to the usual busy nearby resorts of Altinkum and Didum. Akbuk has something to offer everyone but its real gem is the low key tourism that goes on here even during the peak summer holiday months.
Several things to do whilst on holiday in Akbuk, Turkey:
In Akbuk if you want to dine out you will find some great restaurants from ones offering simple traditional Turkish food through to ones that offer an International menu. Some now also serve Chinese as well as Indian dishes for those that wish to sample them.
Want to go on a boat trip? Akbuk harbour is home to countless boat owners and operators that offer everything from a simple cove trip through to a days deep sea fishing. Based right on the Turkish coastline this holiday resort is ideal for sea lovers.
If shopping is your thing then you must pay a visit to the weekly market that is held on the outskirts of Akbuk village centre. Locals as well as tourists can try their luck at bartering here - but watch out, the Turks are really good at it!
Do you fancy a hectic but fun day at a local water park? If so - just take the short bus or taxi ride to the nearby Altinkum Water Park. Be warned though this attraction gets very busy and crowded during the hottest summer months of July and August.
Relaxation and recharging your batteries; this holiday resort is ideal for tourists that wish to simply take it easy and go at a slow pace of life. You can have a leisurely stroll along the sea front at any time of day or night and simply do what pleases you. Why not just relax by a swimming pool at your accomodation whilst sipping a cold drink? Then take a quick snooze before getting ready to eat out at night. Or perhaps you prefer to just spend time in one of the Akbuk Holiday Apartments that you can rent in this resort. Many have very large balconies where you can sit out on and just let Turkish time go by. Rental apartments here are usually "owner operated" where you can be assured of a high quality accomodation for the duration of your stay. Being owned independently means you can save money on a holiday tour operators overall costs making an Akbuk Holiday quite affordable.
It is worth mentioning we feel that accommodation here is owned typically by either English (UK) or Turkish people. Because of this the internal decoration and furnishings of holiday apartments can vary tremendously.
Turkish owned apartments tend to be quite sparse in furnishings, English owned ones though tend to be traditionally furnished - and to a much higher standard!
Have a large party to accommodate for? Perhaps 5 or 6 people? if so consider the rental (or sometimes referred to as holiday letting) of a Duplex style apartment. These are normally on two or more separate floors featuring several bedrooms, a kitchen, at least one bathroom, and a lounge area for relaxing in.
Most holiday makers visiting Akbuk in Turkey choose a self catering accommodation, this gives them the freedom of doing as they please and when it suits them. You can rent an Akbuk Apartment in several complex sites in this Turkish resort. Two worth of mention are the "Sea Shells" and "Yasmin Gardens".
Both have good swimming pools and grassed areas surrounding the apartments within, both are within a short walking distance (approx 30 minutes) to the quaint resort center itself.
Please Note:: As Akbuk is a really lovely place to stay it has become a resort where sometimes you can struggle to book an apartment and especially during the usual school holiday periods. An early booking is therefore advised to make sure you get an apartment in your chosen holiday site complex.
